KUNIYOSHI MURATA   Conceptual artist

Born in 1954. He started his artist career as a painter at the age of 18. He changed his surrealistic painting style to an unformal expression. After his participation in an international traveling exhibition called “God” with Taro Okamoto and Yoko Ono in 1980, his art became more conceptual. He succeeded to Joseph Beuys’s idea of “Social Sculpture” to transform our society through art. His vision is to realize a sustainable future through combing art with science. He has been doing his art performances and installation at various peace events. His installations were exhibited at Tokyo National Art Museum every year.
